New York, New Jersey and Connecticut In The Aftermath Of Hurricane Sandy
November 6th, 2012 8:15 AM

While residents of the coastal areas are still dealing with immediate problems related to the storm, public officials are just beginning to comprehend the massive long term housing issues they will have to deal with, similar to those faced after Hurricane Katrina.

Atlantic County barrier island communities of Atlantic City, Brigantine, Longport, Margate City, and Ventnor City, all experienced widespread damage and devastation as never seen before.

While  Cape May County barrier island communities of Avalon,  Cape May Point, Cape May City, Diamond Beach, North Wildwood, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Stone Harbor, Strathmere, West Cape May, West Wildwood, Wildwood Crest,  and Wildwood City, fared much better, they did not go unscathed.

Our hopes and prayers are with them all. Below are two links for readers who would like to contribute to organizations assisting those in need after Sandy:

The Red Cross
Island Harvest (Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization)
