Freddie Mac said the nationwide average rate for a 30-year mortgage fell to 52-week low of 4.10 percent from 4.12 percent last week. Rates have fallen even though the Federal Reserve has been cutting its monthly bond purchases, which are intended to keep long-term borrowing rates low.
